6 Nations Rugby - 2020/02/01 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
The Guinness 6 Nations gets under way today, and MAtteo has a t-shirt for that…
The Six Nations Championship is an annual international rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. Today’s t-shirt is one which celebrates the tournament and has the 6 Nations symbols across the front: a cock for France, a thistle for Scotland, a rose for England, the Prince of Wales Feathers for Wales, a three leaf clover shield for Ireland and a tri-colour shield for Italy. Needless to say these are not the official Rugby Federation logos, that would have involved an expensive licensing deal…
The Guinness 6 Nations 2020 kicked off today, so what better day to wear this t-shirt. I’ve now embedded the video highlights from the weekend’s action below.
Another 4 rounds to go. While not very pleasant for Italy supporters, there is a lot of entertainment to come.
Partners in Crime, Partners in Time - 2020/01/31 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A Qwertee which celebrates Life Is Strange.
This is a Qwertee t-shirt which celebrates Life Is Strange, the episodic graphic adventure video game from 2015.
This t-shirt is another one from Qwertee, which was a limited edition one. Check out Qwertee to see if you can find something else on theme: https://www.qwertee.com/r/249cd838c1 (referral link).
Honk! Honk! Noot! Noot! - 2020/01/30 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Pingu vs Goose. Who would you choose as your wingman?
Noot! Noot! Honk! Honk! Pingu vs Goose. Who would win the competition to be the most annoying bird (after the seagulls in Finding Nemo)? Either one can be my wingman anytime…
Noot! Noot! Honk! Honk! Pigu vs Goose
Untitled Goose Game is a 2019 puzzle-stealth game developed by House House, where you control a goose causing mischief in an English village. Currently available on the following platforms:
I can’t wait for this to come to Android or iOS. It may even become my go to game after Goat Simulator.
Pingu is a stop-motion clay animated TV series I grew up with. Noot! Noot! is a reaction I often have in many situations as a result.

AC Milan Home 2003-2004 - 2020/01/29 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A football shirt: the AC Milan 2003-2004 home strip.
I was playing football with my colleagues today (the real one where you use your feet). 5 a sides to be precise.
The Scottish weather was pretty brutal, featuring horizontal rain and wind strong enough to make the nets whistle.
The 2003-2004 AC Milan home shirt made by Adidas and sponsored by Opel.
Anyway, today's t-shirt of the day is the AC Milan 2003-2004 home strip. Made by Adidas, it features the AC Milan shield, Adidas logo and the shirt sponsor Opel. In this case Opel was promoting a specific car model: the Meriva compact MPV.
AC Milan won a few trophies in the 2003-2004 season, including a Serie A title. It was the Milan managed by Carlo Ancellotti, with Shevchenko, Inzaghi and Kaka up front. Good times, and an amazing cycle.
Nothing To Declare... - 2020/01/28 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
It is a day for quotes. The t-shirt with Oscar Wilde, Matteo with Indiana Jones.
“It’s not the years honey,it’s the mileage.” Henry Jones, 1936.
This t-shirt is now 20 years old. I am sure of this because it is my birthday today and this was a gift from my parents on my 18th birthday. It’s safe to say that this t-shirt has not only seen many years, but quite a lot of use and mileage.
The quote on the front is one attributed to Oscar Wilde at New York Customs when he visited the United States in January 1882.
“I have nothing to declare except my genius.” Oscar Wilde, New York Customs, January 1882.
“I have nothing to declare except my genius.” Oscar Wilde, New York Customs, January 1882. Interestingly, I was born 100 years later in January 1982.
This t-shirt was from a chain of UK stores called Past Times (which has since gone into administration and disappeared).
As is clear in the photograph of me wearing the t-shirt, there in’t much of it left due to wear and tear. I still do wear it from time to time under a shirt, but it has past the point of being worn out in the open.
When I do the holographic version of t-shirt a day in 2040, this t-shirt is likely to be featured on January 28th again.
Pickle Rick Art - 2020/01/27 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Pickle Rick Art. Matteo explains more…
Rick & Morty. A banana taped to a wall. What happens when you mashup these two very different art forms? The Pickle Rick taped to a t-shirt. Another masterpiece from Qwertee….
In late 2019 someone paid £90000 ($120000) for a banana taped to a wall. This is one form of Art.
In episode 3 of season 3 of Rick & Morty Rick Sanchez transforms himself into a pickle to avoid having to attend a therapy session. He then embarks on an odyssey to regain his human form. This is another form of art. (you can watch Rick & Morty on Netflix in the UK)

Hangover Recovery - 2020/01/26 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
It’s the weekend. Time for Hangover Recovery…
Friday’s t-shirt and Saturday’s t-shirt this week were bar and alcohol related. So I couldn’t think of a more appropriate one for Sunday than this Hangover Recovery one.
This was a gift from my parents when they returned from a trip to Africa around ten years ago.
Hnagover Recovery
The logo “Hangover Recovery” is a clever play on the original Land Rover Discovery one. The new Land Rover Discovery is definitely something we would like to review on the Tech Travel Geeks website. For now you will have to make do with this review…
I Beat The Edinburgh Downtown Ale Trail - 2020/01/25 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Another relic from pub crawls of a bygone era: I Beat The Edinburgh Downtown Ale Trail.
While the “I Shot The Three Sisters” t-shirt involved spending all your pocket money in one bar, this one was a bit more of a challenge: you had to visit a series of places across both the Old Town and the New Town of Edinburgh. Once you had had a drink in each venue, you were handed this t-shirt as a reward.
This is definitely not a thing any more as most of the venues no longer exist. I can recall this being a great challenge, as it involved quite the walk through the city from venue to venue. If comleted in an evening, it gave you quite the tour of Edinburgh.
At the time the bars were as follows:
Bar Oz
Uluru
Scruffy Murphy’s
The Rose Street Cellar Bar
I also have another version of this t-shirt, which I will feature here later in the year. For now, cheers!
I Shot The Three Sisters - 2020/01/24 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Many shots and you used to get this t-shirt at The Three Sisters in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
Back in 2003 one of the bars I used to frequent in Edinburgh used to do a shot challenge called “I shot the Three Sisters”. The Three Sisters bar in Edinburgh’s Cowgate is still there today and I still drop in from time time for a sporting event or after Candice completes the Riding of the Marches.
After having purchased and downed the 10 shots you got this amazingly tasteful red t-shirt with the names of the shots you were about to throw up on the back. The shots were extremely sweet and had names such as:
Creamy Nuts
After Eight
Strawberries And Cream
Tic Tac
Black Russian
Juicy Lucy
Apple Jack
Blimey
Bounty
Diesel
No surprise that the sleeve brand to the t-shirt is Smirnoff. This is definitely a t-shirt from many years ago, and I’m pretty sure the same shots offer is no longer available.
Riviera Casino & Hotel Las Vegas - 2020/01/23 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Th Riviera Casino & Hotel may be gone, but Matteo has a t-shirt to remember his stays there.
This is a reminder that even landmarks and institutions lose relevance and disappear over time. The Riviera Casino & Hotel (established in 1955) was one of the first places Candice and I stayed in in Las Vegas. When this Casino & Hotel was demolished in 2016 it was the oldest building remaining on The Strip at the time.
The good news is that I still have a t-shirt to remember the place and the long walk from the modern centre of The Las Vegas Strip. I have the t-shirt and this excellent scene filmed at the Riviera in Austin Powers.
Marvel Avengers - 2020/01/22 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A Marvel long sleeved t-shirt.
Before Marvel made one of the most successful movie and TV franchises there was one of the most successful comic book series.
Marvel long sleeve t-shirt
This long sleeve Marvel t-shirt features Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk and Captain America in their comic book-like form from an art style typical of the early 2000s.
Later this year I will be featuring a series of super hero t-shirts, so keep your eyes on the Tech Travel Geeks Twitter feed.
Summer Festival Lucca 2008 - 2020/01/21 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Is 2008 already 12 years ago? Well it is a while until summer…
This t-shirt is now coming up to being 12 years old. The Lucca Summer Festival 2008 was an almost month-long series of concerts which featured quite a range of musicians and supporting acts.
I didn’t actually attend any of the concerts, but Candice’s father was working for Leonard Cohen at the time and gave us the t-shirt at some point.
The Lucca 2008 Summer Festival featured the following artists:
Patti Pravo (supported by Stefano Picchi) on July 5th
Sheryl Crow on July 6th
Erykah Badu (supported by Raffaele Spidalieri) on July 8th
Enzo Avitabile on July 11th
Mario Biondi (supported by Karima) on July 16th
Ennio Morricone on July 18th
Alicia Keys (former RIM/Blackberry Creative Director) on July 20th
Hucknall (supported by Chiara Civello) on July 23rd 2008
Chicago on July 26th
Leonard Cohen on July 27th
Thomas the Tank Qwertee - 2020/01/20 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Thomas the Tank and Flygskam and musings about the European Army.
In the current climate of virtue signalling and flight shame, rail is often referred to as the solution for travel (if you don’t have a yacht). Thomas the Tank Engine is fashionable again among parents curating content for their younglings and that reminded me that I have a t-shirt which is close…
Thomas the Tank from Qwertee
Thomas the Tank is a marvellous mashup from Qwertee, where Thomas has a Robust Controller his the turret.
I’m starting to wonder if Germany will appropriate the Thomas der Panzer character for their new European Army thing since they can’t afford to stay part of NATO.

Indiana Homer Qwertee - 2020/01/19 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
This Qwertee design feature an Indiana Jones Homer Simpson mashup.
Another Qwertee mashup, this time featuring Homer Simpson as Dr Henry “Indiana” Jones.
Indiana Homer “retrieving” a donut.
I really enjoyed the Indiana Jones movies, but let us not talk of the Crystal Skull.

Homer Simpson On Life & TV - 2020/01/18 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Another oldie, this time a Simspons one from circa 1998.
This is an oldie but a goodie: my Homer Simpson t-shirt from 1998.
“I have a family and a full time job but I still manage to get in 8 hours of TV a day.” Homer Simpson.
20 years on and a current Homer would probably not be using the word TV, but more likely Netflix or YouTube.

Firefox/Bowser Mashup Qwertee - 2020/01/17 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A Qwertee Firefox Bowser mashup.
While travelling back from London by rail I was wearing this classic Qwertee mashup which is a play on the old Firefox Browser logo and Bowser from the Mario videogame franchise.
The Qwertee Firefox Bowser logo mashup.
As someone working on products and services which run in browsers, I’ve been quite passionate about the tools we use to access the internet and the web. This mashup makes me giggle.

Skyscanner Matrix Logo Black - 2020/01/16 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Another old Skyscanner logo t-shirt: Matrix inspired.
Day two of the Skyscanner event I was at so I wore another classic Skyscanner logo t-shirt from earlier in 2014.
Skyscanner Matrix Black - Old logo circa H1 2014
Partly inspired to the Matrix, this was tied to an internal Product Led initiative at the time.

Skyscanner Logo White - 2020/01/15 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
While on a work trip Matteo shows off an old Skyscanner brand t-shirt.
In London for a work Skyscanner event, I thought I would wear the (old) brand for the day. This one is from late 2014/early 2015 after a brand refresh with some colour and logo size adjustments.
Skyscanner Logo T-shirt circa early 2015
I know, I know: I haven’t been posting daily. Sadly life got in the way, but I commit to catching up and to start using the schedule function of our CMS where possible.
Skyscanner Human Evolution - 2020/01/14 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo is travelling to London for a work event today, wearing a fun corporate t-shirt which depicts the human evolution to travel.
I’m travelling to London for a work event today. What better t-shirt to wear than one with a print which depicts the evolution of the human being to travel. This one is about 5 years old and features some older Skyscanner branding, but is still a classic in my view.
Full disclosure: Skyscanner is my current employer.
MrMobile [Michael Fisher] Stay Mobile - 2020/01/13 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo is taking MrMobile’s advice and staying mobile. Typed on the train to London from Edinburgh…
It is the week after CES wrapped up, and while the Tech Travel Geeks were not attending this year there is still plenty of excellent coverage online from some very insightful and talented people. One of my favourite sources of consumer electronics information and entertainment is Michael Fisher AKA MrMobile.
His YouTube channel is great, with excellent production values and a subject close to my heart: mobile technology. Michael manages to not only inform and entertain, but also to get some very geeky themes and references embedded in his videos. I thoroughly recommend you subscribe to his channel and watch his videos. You can thank me later.
Stay Mobile MrMobile t-shirt.
This t-shirt is from the MrMobile apparel store and features not only his trademark well groomed hair and some Russell Holly-esque glasses but also his sign off catchphrase “Stay mobile [my friends]!”
