Skyscanner - 2020/02/13 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo wore a Skyscanner t-shirt while travelling.
This is a Skyscanner t-shirt from back in September 2013. I wore it while travelling to the US of A (on KLM of course).
Napster - 2020/02/08 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo bought this Napster t-shirt for a pirate themed fancy dress event…
This isn’t an original Napster t-shirt, but one I purchased a few years ago for a pirate themed fancy dress event…
Napster
Napster was a peer to peer file sharing service which was mostly used for sharing mp3 files. It famously ran into legal issues due to copyright claims and eventually was acquired and faded into the obscurity of the internet (a bit like iol.it…).
I used Napster back in the day before ISDN was a thing and had to do so over a dial up connection. It worked, barely.
Ideaa - 2020/02/05 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
IDEAA, a non-profit organisation which organised the Big Android BBQ events.
This is a comfy extra large t-shirt I often wear around the house. It is definitely a comfort over looks one, despite the cool IDEAA logo. IDEAA was the non-profit organisation which enabled the planning of the Big Android BBQ events and other smaller events globally.
IDEAA. An extra large and extra comfy t-shirt.
I had the pleasure of meeting and working with some excellent people through IDEAA, and am thankful I made some friends at the time as well. This evening I will raise a glass to IDEAA and everyone who attended and made the Big Android BBQ events possible. Cheers!
Apple Mothership - 2020/02/04 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo in an Apple t-shirt and holding an iPhone. Will he burst into flames?
Most people know me as an Android enthusiast and to poke a little bit of fun at those who use fruity devices. What many of you don’t know is that I do indeed use fruity devices to varying degrees, and this week I unboxed a new Apple iPhone 11 (PRODUCT)RED. Today’s t-shirt of the day is a limited edition Apple t-shirt from the Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, California.
“Cupertino. Home of the Mothership.”
Now, don’t expect me to be standing in a queue for the next product launch, but be aware that I do use some of the Cupertino company’s devices. Enjoy my video of the unboxing of the Apple iPhone 11 (PRODUCT)RED on the Tech Travel Geeks YouTube Channel.
Firefox/Bowser Mashup Qwertee - 2020/01/17 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A Qwertee Firefox Bowser mashup.
While travelling back from London by rail I was wearing this classic Qwertee mashup which is a play on the old Firefox Browser logo and Bowser from the Mario videogame franchise.
The Qwertee Firefox Bowser logo mashup.
As someone working on products and services which run in browsers, I’ve been quite passionate about the tools we use to access the internet and the web. This mashup makes me giggle.
This t-shirt is another one from Qwertee, which was a limited edition one. Check out Qwertee to see if you can find something else on theme: https://www.qwertee.com/r/249cd838c1 (referral link).
Skyscanner Matrix Logo Black - 2020/01/16 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Another old Skyscanner logo t-shirt: Matrix inspired.
Day two of the Skyscanner event I was at so I wore another classic Skyscanner logo t-shirt from earlier in 2014.
Skyscanner Matrix Black - Old logo circa H1 2014
Partly inspired to the Matrix, this was tied to an internal Product Led initiative at the time.

Skyscanner Logo White - 2020/01/15 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
While on a work trip Matteo shows off an old Skyscanner brand t-shirt.
In London for a work Skyscanner event, I thought I would wear the (old) brand for the day. This one is from late 2014/early 2015 after a brand refresh with some colour and logo size adjustments.

I know, I know: I haven’t been posting daily. Sadly life got in the way, but I commit to catching up and to start using the schedule function of our CMS where possible.
Skyscanner Human Evolution - 2020/01/14 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Matteo is travelling to London for a work event today, wearing a fun corporate t-shirt which depicts the human evolution to travel.
I’m travelling to London for a work event today. What better t-shirt to wear than one with a print which depicts the evolution of the human being to travel. This one is about 5 years old and features some older Skyscanner branding, but is still a classic in my view.
Full disclosure: Skyscanner is my current employer.
Italia Online - 2020/01/12 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
Today’s t-shirt hurls us back to the days of the very slow internet…
Big throwback to 1997/1998: the internet was something new in Italy and Italia On Line (IOL) was Italy’s version of AOL (unrelated to AOL in any way apart from “product inspiration”). IOL ran a TV ad campaign highlighting the usefulness of search. When at the SMAU consumer electronics and technology trade show in Milan I was given this t-shirt which highlighted the catchphrase of the ad campaign.
This was before the days of established search providers (Google was in its infancy and Bing didn’t exist). Altavista and Yahoo were my search engines of choice at the time, but IOL still covered the internet portal function for me.
Let’s face it, even if you did have an internet connection in 1998, it was so slow you would be bashing your face against a rock face and shouting “Open up you bastard!” anyway. Thank goodness for progression of internet speeds: my current home connection is 750 million times faster.
IOL later folded into Libero and was lost in the innards of the internet. It had a good run and gave us a good laugh with this ad campaign.
Needless to say, I don’t wear this t-shirt in public much. Even in Scotland people know that the southern european word for referee is a rude one…
Intel Developers Android - 2020/01/11 - Matteo's T-shirt A Day
A t-shirt of a tech future which could have been: Intel Android…
Around 2013 and 2014 Intel, one of the world’s biggest semiconductor chip manufacturers, was betting big on Android. They spent a lot of money seeding their products and driving the adoption of Android as a platform, in the hope of capitalising at a later date. Products like the Orange San Diego and the Tesco Hudl 2 came from this push of Intel’s and they were pushing hard on the developer onboarding as well.
This is an Intel Developer Zone t-shirt from 2014 which I was given at an Android developer conference called Droidcon.
Sadly Intel’s efforts were not as successful as they were hoping and due to some internal refocusing that whole area of their business was refocused on other things. Just 5 years later it is definitely not common to see many Android devices running on Intel chips. This is definitely one of those “what could have been” stories of the tech industry. Well, I have a cool t-shirt to remind me of it…
